As far back as she can remember, Janine always had projects to do. Needlework was first. Then came the years of paint- or color-by-number, looming, crochet, rug-hooking and cross-stitch, to name a few. Both grandmothers quilted professionally, so it is possibly genetic that she is in the quilting industry. Janine has been longarm quilting for 20 years and designing patterns for 12. She started designing fabric in 2013, focusing on a hand-dyed texture on commercially-printed cotton. "I love the look of hand-dyed fabrics. They make gorgeous quilts."

In addition to designing fabric and patterns, Janine is also a Sales Representative for Midwest Textiles & Supplies, selling fabric to quilt shops in Washington and Oregon. "I am so blessed to have a job that requires me to visit quilt shops!"

If you find yourself traveling through eastern Washington State, please stop by to say hi. In late 2017, Designs by jb, a quilt boutique will open, to be followed by the quilt gallery in 2018. Please visit designsbyjb.us for more information.
