Victoria is an energetic print designer living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She genuinely hopes to help people feel better in their living and working spaces by designing patterns and products that brighten these environments, hence her business name of Victoria Bright. Your direct environment is incredibly important to your well-being! The incorporation of art and design goes a long way toward making for a well-lived life.
She grew up in Minnesota, learning to quilt, knit, crochet and needlepoint at her grandmother’s side. Her mother continues the quilting tradition and is still active in the craft today and Victoria treasures many of her grandmother’s quilts. Victoria has been creating with color for as long as she remembers holding a crayon or paint brush. She is mostly a self-taught artist with a strong background in photography and drawing. Geometric motifs are her favorites because they remind her of math and the fascinating ways nature is knitted together. She recently launched a line of eco-friendly wallpaper out of the Dallas Market that is being used in boutique hotels, homes and commercial spaces.
Inspiration for her can be the most obscure and tiny thing… her husband says she dawdles when they are out and about because she is focusing so intently on their surroundings, especially if they are out on a hike in the mountains. He can easily outpace her by a country mile and she won’t notice until she finally looks up! Colors and shapes intrigue her the most and she spends countless hours experimenting with combinations of them. She is drawn to modern, vintage modern and contemporary design, especially in geometric form. Usually she starts with sketches on graph paper. Sometimes she paints and take the results into the digital space for further manipulation. Sometimes she starts with a shape and a color palette and follow where they lead within Photoshop or Illustrator. Whatever the end result may be happens through a process of play and passion and a genuine love for color and how it impacts us as humans.
